Joanna Krupa is a Polish American model and actress. She was born Warsaw, Mazowieckie, Poland. She is known internationally as the host and head judge of Polish Top Model. Her film and TV work include Planet of the Apes (2001), CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2000) and InAPPropriate Comedy (2013).
Krupa has appeared on magazine covers including FHM, Inside Sport, Stuff, Steppin’ Out, Shape and Maxim, in which she was named the Sexiest Swimsuit Model in the World.
Maxim named her #55 in its 2011 Hot 100 ranking of the world’s hottest women.
She was voted German Maxim’s Model of the Year 2004–2005. Krupa has also appeared twice on the cover of Playboy and graced the covers of South African GQ and the Polish editions of Cosmopolitan, InStyle, Glamour and Grazia.
Krupa also starred in The Real Housewives of Miami from 2011 until its cancellation in 2013. The series did have some great characters and women who brought the drama, especially Krupa. Most of her storyline focused around her not-so-perfect relationship with her then boyfriend, Romain Zago.
The model’s life has drastically changed since her relationship and friendship drama aired on RHOM. Krupa feels strongly about her work in the series as stated. “Even if [RHOM] did come back, I wouldn’t come back. So, when they did officially canceled it, I was relieved I’ll be honest with you.”
Krupa and Zago were together nearly a decade before they filed for divorce in July 2017. The couple was plagued by cheating rumors on Season 2 and then later had their wedding aired on Bravo. Despite their long relationship, things didn’t work out, because the two were at different points in their relationship. “I was heartbroken. He had wanted a family, but I was always traveling and made work my priority. As time has gone on, I’ve realized we were both unhappy,” Krupa told about her split from Zago.
Since then she found love again and moved on to marry businessman Douglas Nunes. Nunes is the CEO and partner of property development for the company 451 Media Group. He proposed in March 2018, just eight months after Krupa finalized her divorce from Zago.
On August 4, five months after the proposal, they tied the knot in an ornate ceremony held in a Benedictine Abbey in Kraków, Poland. Together, they had a beautiful baby girl named Asha-Leigh Nunes whom they welcomed in 2019.
The model gushed about her baby saying, “She’s the love of my life. Probably the biggest accomplishment I would say, til today, is having my little daughter.”
The former RHOM star is also very involved in animal rights, and is one of PETA’s most successful models. Krupa had previously appeared in a PETA ad campaign against the use of fur. In an April 2009 cover story with Aventura Business Monthly, Krupa said she was first motivated to promote PETA when she saw video of animals being skinned alive for their fur in China.
She posed covered in body paint for PETA in 2015, this time for their campaign to boycott SeaWorld. She also founded an animal rescue group, Angels For Animal Rescue, and together with her friend Gabi Gutierrez, they attend to many animals in shelters, needing new homes.
