Aussie, Movie Star, Heartthrob Ben Milliken Stars in “MIGHTY OAK”

Landing the role in MIGHTY OAK happened overnight for BEN MILLIKEN. His agent called frantically saying he had to record a video audition asap. So he hopped in front of a camera and by midnight shot an audition. A few short hours later, they called and said he had the role. Ben was now Darby.

Ben Milliken is an actor, produce, father, husband & an awesome surfer.  Born in Manchester, England, Ben was raised in Bilgola Beach located on Sydney’s Northern Shore. Before pursuing a career in film and television, Ben was an incredible boxer for 10 years. Now cast as a star in Paramount Studio‘s “Mighty Oak” tells us “says you will laugh, cry and pick up a guitar by the end of the film.” According to his interview in meaww.com.

The film follows a young woman, Gina Jackson (Janel Parrish), whose world comes crashing down after the death of her brother, Vaughn (Levi Dylan), who also is the lead vocalist of a band.

Ten years later, she comes across Oak Scoggins (Tommy Ragen), a young guitar prodigy, who she firmly believes is the reincarnation of Vaughn. ‘Mighty Oak’ also stars Alexa PenaVega, Raven-Symoné and Carlos PenaVega in supporting roles

Exploring his love for film, Ben spent three years studying at the leading film and television training school in Australia – On Camera Studio – under the direction of Sandra Lee Paterson.

Before long, Ben began landing roles in television, appearing in MCLEOD’S DAUGHTERS, and numerous short films and theater. He then starred in the independent feature film, NEWCASTLE, which made its World premiere at the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival.

Ben then moved to Los Angeles, where he quickly began landing roles in multiple film and television projects, including Universal’s BLUE CRUSH 2. Most recently, Ben has been booked in a recurring role in season 5 of Amazon’s hit show BOSCH, which aired in early 2019.

In the film Darby is the funny one, the a comedic character. Ben has always wanted to play the guy who drops those one liners & is always saying something funny said he never has had so much fun. It is a stark contrast to the bad guy character he played in Season 5 of ‘Bosch‘ on Amazon Prime. As he told checkersaga.com, “All the time be doing one thing new, to search out some completely different components of your self that you can discover and open up.” Those are words spoken by a true actor.
